Hi, May be you should also have a pointer to Satyam's New Policy, that prevents employee from leaving the company outside their home country.

I decline with the above statement,
I was working with SATYAM since 10 years, I have seen people leaving and joinning ... I dont blaim any one for it but the EXIT interview is the works in SATYAM, imagine that after 10 years of service in satyam, I havent had an EXIT Interview, The fact is satyam wants to let-go the senior staff as they demend more and induct the new as they accept what ever is paid ... but satyam forgets what it has to sacrifice to get going with an employee for 10 years and what it has to do to retain an employee for 10 years........ bottom line is you get what you pay ...,

Chirag - Could you please elaborate more on that point, What you are saying is that satyam doesnt allow its employees to quit when onsite for long term assignments...Is my understanding right? Venkatraman, I know that there are thoughts that some companies would prefer to get rid of high cost resources and get in new resources from the market on thier terms, but given the current market conditions i beleive that would be rather stupid on the part of the company to employ that strategy, this thought exists when finance is runnig the business... and somebody is trying to meet thier P&L; targets, i dont think it is good for the company as a whole.On your first point , i was unable to understand it completly could you please explain. And both of you , thank you for the comments, its nice to have these conversations

Prashant, If I start talking about it there is no end to it as debates are debatable and people enjoy the talk and every body tries to win their point rather than considering the facts.
Every company has an EXIT process in place like wise SATYAM had the best in the past, now any body can just join satyam with minimum contacts and sticking back to my topic EXIT has become the worst no body even cares as HR has absolutely no power when they talk to the business leaders, when they talk to associates they use the maximum lucrative words like Policies and process and so on but when it comes to talking to a business head they are hitting a wall. as mentioned in my case I did not have an EXIT interview neither form HR nor from my team..., but still SATYAM is a very professional company and I always envy it, my point here is top management is too busy all the time every time and doesn’t care what’s going on the recruitment and exit process what all they care is number game, just take a look at cognizant with 30% of the clients that satyam has it is now standing as $1Bil company and has taken 3rd place in the country pushing SATYAM to 4th... TCS and Infosys being 1st & 2nd...,

I understand what you are saying and i think you make some very valid points on how P&L; driven business leaders loose focus on the long term good of the companies. This is satyam's new policy summary verbatim:
•Associates to provide / serve a notice period as per the Employment / Contract letter.
•Deputed Associates cannot resign On Site and have to come back to Off Shore and then only resign. I resigned last week and have been asked by HR to pack my bags to offshore...

What venkat said here is true . I aslo didnt had any exit interview but it is not related to number of years u work there.The problem in satyam is no body knows anything. HR in satyam is like a govt body, they just dont know what to do. The other thing is that satyam has these wonderful policies for everything but none of it gets ever implemented (same in the case of govt) and satyam is very good in propaganda (like the feel good factor of NDA govt). I think that is to get those ranking in the surveys.

Agree with Ashwin, No exit interview for me too (last day was 31-Oct-2006), In fact the bosses did not even bother to ask what made me leave.

All,
In certain states in US, the above clause "deputed associates cannot resign..." does not hold legal even if you have signed the agreement. What would happen if you go ahead and resign is that they will mark you as "Breach of contract" and will not send you service letter and you will not get your final settlement. This policy is F%$^ed up one. Is this is the way you treat associates who has worked for Satyam for 5 years or 10 years? This sucks. This is UNETHICAL way of conducting business!!! This is what an Indian company differs from an American company!!!

I don't think is a good idea either. I mean if somebody walks away from a company he does it because he got a better offer or he got fired. In the second case it wouldn't be helpful at all for him to be found as fired on a firm's online employer database.

I got a very good offer from very good company and iam hearing this news that i cant resign from satyam because of this policy.I started my career in satyam and i can't afford not getting service letter for all these years that i worked loyally for Satyam to bring them more business from onsite.
