New research predicts that the number of businesses using cloud computing services to perform their IT management functions is set to grow over the coming years, with cloud management software set to become a $2.5 billion market by 2015. A report by International Data Corporation found that companies will be increasing their expenditure to ensure that they can use private and public cloud systems to help reduce their IT costs in the future.

The report also found that about 63% of the market will be represented by the Americas, with Europe, the Middle east and Africa also gaining as firms look to incorporate applications like hosted email and MS SharePoint, and unify their communications through the cloud. As more businesses are recognizing the economic and performance benefits of cloud technologies, a significant shift will occur from today's pilot programs to full integration.
