Software is designed to help human beings. In particular, enterprise software is one type of software that is made to help businesses become more efficient particularly with regards to processes and the use of information.

MRP, or manufacturing resource planning, software is one specific type of enterprise software that is aimed at creating production schedules which are realistic and achievable for businesses. The more modern day versions of MRP are the ERP versions which stands for enterprise resource planning software. These are much more comprehensive than the previous MRP software because ERP includes the entire manufacturing process. The software includes processes for logistics, payroll, accounting, and hypothetical schedules too. The major ERP software providers are SAP and Oracle, which both run on the Microsoft Windows operating systems.
