Its Raining Deal for Indian IT Services firms

Pune based telecom software services company Tech-Mahindra, has bagged the largest outsourcing deal valued at $1 bn from British Telecom (BT). This is the largest contract bagged by any software services firm in India.

Deal Details - Excerpts:

Most long term contracts of this nature are primarily in the systems integration and maintenance space and are relatively low margin businesses. However, the current contract is likely to be at higher billing rates because it is for strategic outsourcing services.

HCL Technologies said on Wednesday that it has bagged a $200-million order from Skandia UK, an independent provider of long-term savings solutions

Deal Details - Excerpts:

The contract, which is spread over a five-year period, also involves HCL taking on its rolls 250 existing Skandia employees who will now become a part of HCL UK.

HCL would enable and accelerate Skandia UK's move to a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA), as part of an initiative to make Skandia UK's IT landscape a world class, agile infrastructure that will make the savings provider more competitive.
