This past March, HDI (the world's largest membership association for the service and support industry) announced it had formed new Vertical forums
for the healthcare, higher education, government, and financial
services industries. The HDI groups provide a place for senior level IT
service and support professionals to network and share ideas and
experiences with professionals in similar roles and in
comparable industries.

Well said. It's hard to think of a more reactive functional area within companies of all sizes. The Forums appear to provide an opportunity to refresh and get proactive.
