Salesforce.com Unlimited

Salesforce.com yesterday announced Unlimited Edition, a product line that will sit above Enterprise Edition.Unlike the Enterprise Edition which limits to 10 the number of custom applications -- a combination of either home grown or those built on the Salesforce AppExchange platform -- that can be plugged in to Salesforce.com, the new product will enable organizations to plug in an unlimited number of third-party or custom-built applications. In addition, the Unlimited version will accommodate 2000 custom objects and give each user 120MB of storage, as opposed to the Enterprise Edition which has a limit of 200 custom objects and 20MB of individual storage.

Unlimited Edition Product Details
Unlimited Edition includes all the features and capabilities of salesforce.com's Enterprise Edition, which has won InfoWorld magazine's CRM Technology of the Year Award three years running. Unlimited Edition extends Enterprise Edition's suite of flexible CRM applications for complex enterprises to also include:

* Unlimited Applications - This feature provides the ability to add and run an unlimited number of applications and is designed for enterprises that are expanding their on-demand applications to extend CRM or implement other critical business activities including finance, legal, human resources and IT. These applications can be internally developed or third-party applications developed by partners or salesforce.com installed from the AppExchange.
* Increased Storage and Customization - By including 120 MB of storage per user - a six fold increase from Enterprise Edition - Unlimited Edition is designed to support the needs of enterprises running multiple on-demand business applications simultaneously. Additionally, innovative architectural breakthroughs in Unlimited Edition significantly increase the number of customized tabs, objects and fields available for use, greatly expanding the level of data model customization.
* Salesforce Sandbox - With Salesforce Sandbox, IT departments benefit from a fully replicated production environment for testing, development and training. Companies can instantly model all of their Salesforce applications, customizations, integrations, and corporate data. Salesforce Sandbox features one click access to move and refresh data and is available for order on its own or as a part of Unlimited Edition.
* premiumlinks Support and Administration - To help enterprises create success on demand, Unlimited Edition includes premium support to help companies install, deploy and implement new applications from the AppExchange. Premium support includes an assigned support representative to ensure customer-specific knowledge is maintained, and access to expert-level API and integration support resources. Premium administration services include an assigned salesforce.com administrator as a trusted resource for common administrative tasks and on-site visits.

Pricing and Availability
Unlimited Edition is available for $195 per user per month. Enterprise Edition, Salesforce Sandbox and premium support and administration are included in Unlimited Edition and are also available for order separately. Unlimited Edition is immediately available.

"Unlimited Edition was developed in response to our customers' rapid expansion of their Salesforce deployments across the entire enterprise, through the adoption and deployment of applications from the AppExchange," said Marc Benioff, Chairman and CEO, salesforce.com. "This is a fulfillment of our vision of The Business Web, enabling companies of any size to manage, organize and share all of their business information on demand."
