SaaS in Asia – A1S Ready

"SaaS has undergone a very substantial increase in awareness and adoption in the last 12 months," said Dane Anderson, CEO & EVP of Research for Springboard Research. "Awareness jumped from 41% in 2006 to 61% in 2007, so SaaS is undoubtedly gaining traction in the market. With SaaS market revenues expected to grow 86% this year in Asia (excluding Japan), satisfaction levels for SaaS currently very high, and the increased interest by larger vendors like Microsoft and SAP, we expect SaaS to continue to gain adoption." – Excerpt from a Springboard Research Press Release.
This is of great relevance at this time as i am headed to the SAP Summit, India, Which starts tomorrow. On the SAP initiative of A1S, which is the SaaS delivered ERP for the SME/SMB, i am very keen on understanding and knowing their plans for the APAC market and more specifically India.I beleive that Asia will be the true testing environment for the SME/SMB initiatives that SAP is talking about.

We have been eagerly waiting for the release of A1S, from SAP. SAAS, and the leap of faith that SAP took in taking on this enormous project, could have a huge impact in the South African Market.
