PeopleSoft People Thoughts

has a post up summarizing the discussion of the PeopleSoft
user panel at the HR Technology Conference.....below are some excerpts from the same:
Oracle Fusion - Confusion:Each executive on the panel still seems confused over Fusion. More specifically, what its going to look like in terms of functionality, configurability, roadmap and release dates, etc. Each executive, though, stated no plans to move off PeopleSoft and are "cautiously optimistic" about Fusion's future based on Oracle's outreach with them on getting insight into wants and needs.
Switching ERPs. The panel talked about the opportunity to switch to SAP. In fact, one of the executives on the panel had recently switched from PeopleSoft to SAP and raved about the success. As he stated, "...users were happier, we've achieved over 65% ROI and a payback within 18 months...and the project was on-time and on budget".
The Evolution of Talent Management. The consideration of talent management technologies was a mixed bag. One of the panelist suggested SAP will be the center of the universe for all future needs/applications.
Workforce Analytics. Lots of talk about analytics, still I sense most companies still don't know how to approach it from a technology level and, more importantly, truly understand what to measure.
Service & Support. This was probably the most interesting part of the session. Each of the panelists stated they were generally happy with their current level of service and support from Oracle. In fact, most in the room suggested no plans to move to an alternative maintenance provider. Yet, when someone in the audience (a PeopleSoft customer with just over 6,000 employees) queried the room, the results were staggering. Nearly 70% of the roomed raised their hand in disappointed with Oracle's service.
