Next Chapter for the IT Worker.

Eweek in its article titled "IT: The Next Chapter " has some interesting reasons why it believes the next chapter for the IT worker is expected to be quite interesting, the points mentioned are quite debatable but the reasons listed are as follows:

1. Outsourcing will lose its luster, its lost the magic and people are beginning to view it more as switching one headache for another- "managing the outsourcer"

2. IT workers will enjoy global demand for their services. A global marketplace for IT Workers is emerging, the threat of losing your lunch to india or China will be replaced by the possibility of being an global players oneself.

Equilibrium will come to hold in the global wagelinks market - Sometime in the (near) future, people capable of doing work will get paid roughly the same amount wherever they are.

3. New architectures need multiple skills. Technologies such as SOA (service-oriented architecture) are creating a burgeoning market for workers with technology and business skills - "But it's more than the technology. It's about your business processes,"

4. Technology will spur organizational evolution. - "IT provides a hugely rich medium for organizational innovation," - for the flexible technology worker, "it's a potentially lucrative opportunity."
