Microsoft and Infosys deepen relationship

Microsoft and off-shoring mega-consultancy Infosys announced today that they will be slipping further into bed together, as Infosys creates a dedicated 400 seat facility (a "vendor offshore facility" or "VOF" is what they are calling it... sounds a bit like a sweatshop to me) to showcase their expertise developing for Microsoft products. They are also developing a "Microsoft Dynamics Concept Center" to focus on presenting solutions based around Microsoft's Dynamics line of business applications.

As always, overseas outsourcing of consulting efforts has its pluses and minuses, but the economic advantages are clear and this strikes me as an opportunity for Microsoft Dynamics to make significant inroads versus other monolithic line of business packages by presenting even more attractive cost structures. Infosys, no slouch in the sales department, is also well positioned to encourage adoption among existing clients.
