Involuntary Attrition up !! - Infosys

If you work for any size IT Services company in India, you are bound to be sufferinglinks from the talent crunch not enough is said or written about it , but the market is really crazy out there.

There was a candidate who comes in for an interview in a non-hot skill with 3 yrs of experience, his current salary is 3.5L Rs (8500 USD$ Approx, yes that low....offshoring is still very cost effective) per annum. He has two other offers one for 5.5L Rs (1300 USD$ Approx, which is a 57% hike) and another with 6.5L Rs (15000 USD$ Approx, which is an 85% hike) ...but was still shopping around as he was hoping for 7.5L Rs (17500 USD$ Approx, which is 115% hike)...though we might want to take comfort with the fact that this is a random case, facts show otherwise this is more the norm than the exception.

In this current scheme of things , i found an interesting fact from yesterdays Infosys call, where they had indicated that Involuntary attrition is up from 0.9% to 1.3% , though the explanation provided was that there are very high standards being set for candidates being processed through training, i would like to better understand the numbers. And what would be really cool is to track what happened to these people, where did they land? - My bet they would have joined another IT Services company with a minimum 30% raise and lived happily ever after.
