1. Need ability to ensure syncronised execution at the channel and store levels.
2. 1700 New products were introduced in 2005, 75% Didnt Meet sales target.
3. New Product shelf stock outs are more than double of regular turn products - Over 14%
4. Need visibility & syncronised execution in the retail supply chain

Other key challenges compounding the complexity of new product introductions(NPI):

Lack of Historical Data
Increasing rate of NPI

Organisational silos and lack of single version of truth

Infosys has developed a solution that leverages the SAP Platform, which covers retail data streams - RFID, POS, IRI - Nielsenlinks, Product shipment information etc and organises then into lead and lag indicators, providing a "Product Launch Dashboard", which can be used very effectively leverage & monitor the execution of key promotions
