Indian Outsourcing Industry Boom Continues.

The Indian software and services (IT-BPO) exports will clock a growth of 32.6% to exceed $31 billion in the current fiscal, key findings of a Nasscom review.Clocking a 10 fold rise in revenue in 10 years, which is from $4.8 billion in year 1997-98 to $47.8 billion in the current fiscal.
This sector is expected to employ 1.6 Million people by March of 2007.
Indian IT Providers growth can be visibly seen in the Davos, WEF Summit, Top Indian IT companies are looking to build better mindshare for their brands among global heads. Sample the action in Davos: Wipro is branding three buses (there are only 10) in Davos, besides sponsoring cocktails, hosting the Bollywood night and other special sessions. Rivals TCS and Infosys are sponsoring the power breakfast with global business leaders.
Infosys is hosting a private breakfast debate where CEO Nandan Nilekani will be joined by KPMG international chairman Michael Rake, Royal Dutch Shell chief executive Jeroen van der Veer, PepsiCo International boss Michael D White, nestle
chairman and CEO Peter Brabeck, among others.
Some interesting stats on other marketing efforts by the India IT Providers: In the last 12-18 months, Wipro has participated in 74 events. Infosys, on the other hand, was mentioned and discussed in almost 500 analysts reports and participated in 40-50 global ratings surveys, like best offshore player, best employer and best company. These companies, on an average, spend between $30,000 to $100,000 per event.The goal: get noticed by the IT influences - about 100,000 of them which includes 10,000 CXOs, 20,000 IT decision makers and around 75,000 line staff who head HR, marketing, supply chain and others.
