PerformanceMonitor conducted a research based on input from 864 clients of 11 leading ADM providers, 7 of which are multi-nationals and 4 of which are India-based.

The 7 Multi-National providers were, Accenture ,Capgemini, EDS , Fujitsu Services, hewlett packard, IBM & Siemens Business Services.

The 4 Indian Providers were Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro & TCS.

Research highlights that India-based firms outperform some or all of the multi-national firms in a number of areas of application development and maintenance (ADM) services and, as a group, the four Indian firms represented perform on a par with the seven multi-national firms in the study.

Performance Scores:

For multiple integrated applications, Cognizant, an India-based firm, has the highest performance score

Hewlett Packard's clients accord them the highest performance score for new application development.

Hewlett Packard also tops the list for work in stand-alone applications.

Transition Effectiveness:

Only two of the nine are rated as "strong"

Goal attainment :

Cognizant clients report the highest level of goal attainment relative to their expectations on three specific client goals: 'improved response to business need', 'improve skills levels', and 'meet regulatory requirements'.

Problem management:

Infosys has the lowest incidence of "troubled engagements"
