Via Paul Brown (CEO of FiveSight) in the open source infrastructure side of the business. TheServerSide.com reports that FiveSight Technologies has released a open source version of a Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) engine. BPEL is one of these low-level, application server-like functionalities that handles all of the dirty plumbing and Complexity associated with coordinating (orchestrating) web services. There are extremely few vendors in the world that know how to manufacture a high-quality BPEL engine. FiveSight is one of those jewel vendors. It warms my heart to know that the world can now benefit from such a high-end design and quality piece of work.

Congratulations to Paul (a friend and former colleague)!
