, chair of the Senate Commerce Committee's Anti-Trust sub-committee, has stepped up to the podium and announced that the group will be rushing to scrutinize the impending advertising deal between Yahoo and Google.Washington may be the least of either party's worries, however; the EU has been much more aggressive with anti-trust regulation of late. For the most part, however, everyone in the game has been busy kicking Microsoft around, and while certain folks in Redmond may be rubbing their hands together with glee at the prospect of someone else in the hotseat (and there in no small part through Microsoft's efforts... whether intentional or not I will continue to speculate) the fact is that both DOJ and EU enforcers seem to almost enjoy taking on Microsoft, and may not approach Google or Yahoo with such zeal.
I should stop giving this whole thing so much attention, but I'm sure it must have some implication for CIOs, I just have to figure out what it is to justify my interest.
