DEMOFall presenters Part 2

It is a rainy afternoon here (this being L.A.!) but another superb line up of presenters:
United KeysThese guys have really found a niche - they implement small displays on top of a keyboard or within. They also power cell phones or PDA.
Here is a short video.
PieThey have a very simple home networking approach (which did not work while being on the show...) that makes installing a router a piece of cake.
PowwareThe revolution in computer programming - right. So they demoed a graphical interface that produces C++ program. Not sure if a programmer finds much value in it and amateurs
might not have the need for C++. But very neat presentation - I'm amazed especially by that voice synthesizer :)Here is a short video.
realm systemsMaybe I missed something - not totally sure what this server does. But Rick definitely is easily the funniest presenter so far. Great presentation!
The first half an hour as podcast.ActivewordsDEMO Veteran Buzz Bruggeman presents InkPad Version 1.5. InkPad is like a natural writing shortcut version for Tablet PCs. I did not find the great value in it so far - but that might be me.
Here is a short video.
EverdeskEverdesk helps you to manage attachments in your email. It is more activity based then time based as incoming emails usually are. The audience was strangely quiet...
MemioMemio displays a history over the lifetime of a document. It scans changes in a Windows document and display this in a chart. Nice tool - but who really needs that?
determinaTheir new product VPS protects networks from malware. $19 million in investment have done a good job it seems. It tracks attacks and shields networks against common vulnerabilities (by using reusable 'shield signatures'. Sounds really promising.
Teneros$24.5 million in investments - so what has come out? A guaranteed access and continuity for MS Exchange, Active Directory and clients. Exchange is dreaded by most administrators as you never know why it breaks. Steve showcased how great the backup worked. I really love that product - easy enough to see how to make customers cheers. Simple and useful - my star so far.
The second 30 mins of the afternoon session as a podcast.
That is something I understand - Insors combines functionality of Skype, Webex and more in one single tool.
See more in the video.
Rotani
Finally a German engineer on stage - Nicholas Funke. Rotani provides a solution to improve video over LAN. The demo looks pretty good. $9.3 million in investments have shown fruits.
I do stream my videos at home via a 802.11g service for a while now - woks all fine. Not sure in which environment Rotani is needed - but I guess they will have a strong license business soon.
Tendril
Ok missed that one - you need to investigate on your own.
Trimergent
Not easy to understand due to the accent of the speaker. Trimergent provides a portal for enterprise data. TopTier had the value proposition back in 200.
nextpage
Nextpage is a decentralized document management product. Looks all pretty neat.
The third 30 mins of the afternoon session as podcast.
iCentera
Aims to bridge the gap between developers and sales people. I saw portals and registrating users but what you do with it was no solved for me at least.
workshare
Workshare scans outbound email documents and deletes or at least alerts about confidential information.
I wonder how easy it is to setup the rules for this. But no doubt this is a very helpful service for some industries.
Greenarray
Is that another project management tool?
IntelliReach
Intellireach claims to have the one-in-all solution for emails (spam filters, archiving, virus filtering).
ATG
ATG Service suits provides a nicely looking tool for customer service. Some great features as all media and complete customer history is in the tool. Also it considers user experience and customizes the templates according to this information.
Pretty cool stuff - but attention levels are headed south in the auditorium - long day here.
Echelon
Echelon presents the 'Smart Carpet' which has sensors to find out what is going on around and above it. It is a cool showcase for their new Pyxos platform. The vision behind is to transform dumb devices into smart devices.
The fourth and last part of today's session as a podcast.
