Datacenter Virtualization Start-up Virtual Iron Software Launches Company

Filed in archive Market Perturbations by steve on January 26, 2005

Within the datacenter lie the crownlinks jewels of many an organization. Prominent VCs like Accel Partners have invested in the datacenter virtualization space. Well there's a new company in the area now ... Virtual Iron Software. Having been familiar with the infrastructure space for awhile, what grabs my attention is that one of the key investors mentioned is Matrix Partners, and David Skok (general partner of Matrix and famous also as founder of SilverStream) is on the board. As distributed via PR Newswire,

"Our announcement today is a prelude to the launch of an open standards- based solution -- a tipping point -- for the way corporate datacenters are architected and utilized," said John C. Thibault, president and chief executive officer of Virtual Iron Software. "We have the technology that addresses a significant, definable problem, an experienced management team and the backing of world-class investors to make the much talked about Real-Time Infrastructure a reality."
