RSSCisco hires Padmasree Warrior as CTO
Cisco announced today that they have hired Padmasree warrior away from Motorola to serve as Chief Technical Officer. Warrior wraps up a 23 year career at Motorola that was capped with a stint as CTO there since 2003. She departs shortly after CEO Ed Zander announced his intentions to do the same, and both of them are leaving on a down note after Motorola's dissapointing performance of late in the global cellular market.
Cisco apparently feels the downturn and the departure are unconnected, despite there apparently being little love lost for Warrior at Motorola. Her widely read "Bits at the Edge" blog has already been redirected to a bland marketing page there.

Is Cisco moving into mobility? I belive that Padmasree Warriors mobile tech experience will help in that strategy. Im think this was a smart move on Cisco’s part. And the fact that shes a powerful women thats just the icing on the cake and teh cherry on top!
