Blog tool for the Enterprise.

Some time back we saw a case study of a WIKI being used in the Enterprise check out link here, now Software developer Six Apart Ltd. introduced a blogging product in the U.S. designed for enterprise use.Six Apart expects Movable Type Enterprise to offer an attractive way for companies to improve internal communications and knowledge sharing. Its low cost means the offering could replace other software tools designed to deliver similar collaboration and content-management benefits, Six Apart said.
At the low end, a license costs $4,000 with the option of an additional $2,000 yearly fee for customer support. The support fee includes product updates and a two-hour response time to questions.
The software includes support for LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) authentication, Oracle 10g database support, user interface customization and feeds that notify administrators and authors of blog activity

Four thousand dollars seems a little bit expensive. But it’s for your own good. I would pay this money if my future depends on it.
$4,000 isn’t too expensive to set up a nice corporate blogging. It’s a fine offer but the real motives of opening a corporate blogging business eludes me.
