I would be very surprised to find a paper in INDIA, that doesnt talk about this deal on it cover page. The news about this deal has been making rounds for some time now, it was made formal yesterday - ABN Amro announced two mega deals for two of the largest Indian IT services companies. While TCS has won a Euro 200-million applications development and outsourcing deal, Infosys Technologies has won what the company billed its 108 million Euro deal as its single largest, multi-year contract ever won.

Indian IT majors are finally rubbing shoulders with the global bigwigs for multi-billion dollar deals. Indian tech companies like Infosys, TCS and Wipro are prominent in the race for $2bn deals from General Motors and ING, while ABN Amro's $1.8bn outsourcing deal has India's offshoring giants prominently in the winners list.

This clearly indicates that large offshore players like us have a competitive business model to deliver large, global, multi-year contracts. The deal also signifies a trend towards strategic global sourcing, where customers are selecting multiple, best-of-breed vendors to help improve efficiencieslinks in their IT service delivery," say Infosys CEO and managing director, Nandan Nilekani
