Came across the Gartner magic
Quadrant for Business Intelligence Implementation Services, North America, 2006 white paper at the Satyam Website, Below are some initial notes from whitepaper:

Note1:
STRATEGIC PLANNING ASSUMPTION(S): Through 2012, service providers will provide more than 50 percent of the skills and capabilities for new BI implementations (0.9 probability).
Note2:
BI projects are having a greater impact at higher levels of the enterprise as organizations seek to achieve higher business value from the use and analysis of their information. This more strategic focus means that clients need to address:
- The strategic business impact and value of BI
- A significantly broader user base (for example, business workers at all levels, salespeople, partners and customers, customer service, and IT operations)
- The breadth of their BI portfolio, which needs to expand to encompass a wider range of performance management applications, both at the corporate and the operational level
The big challenge many face during this shift is aligning and integrating initiatives between IT, business functions and users and balancing tactical and strategic demands.
Note3:
The multiple skills and asset requirements across domains mean that a CSI company must choose the areas in which it will be expert. Also, a service provider must organize to ensure quality and consistency in its delivery. Major categories include:
- Business expertise (such as business performance and business process)
- Organizational expertise (for example, change management and training)
- Industry expertise (for example, specialty retail, transportation and utilities)
- Vendor/product expertise (for instance, Hyperion, Oracle or SAP BW)
- Technical subject expertise (for example, data modeling or data warehouse design)
- Implementation expertise (such as frameworks, tools and templates)
- Delivery expertise (for example, solution centers and global locations)
- CSI talent management (for example, knowledge management, hiring and training)
- Programmatic expertise (for example, project management and governance)
- Ability for innovation (for instance, creating competitive advantage for clients)
