585 To Oracle Over SAP in 2006 - According to Oracle

Oracle recently made an announcement that in 2006 585 Companies choose Oracle Apps over SAP,

Excerpts from the press release:

In an effort to simplify information management and business process automation, companies such as Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation, HarperCollinslinks Publishers, LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd., Linvatec Corp., Makro Atacadista, MG General Service de Mexico, S.A. de C.V, Orscheln Farm and Home, National Oilwell Varco, Thompson Enterprises, Virgin Mobile South Africa and Zhejiang Hangxiao Steel Structure recently selected Oracle Applications over SAP.

Additionally, more than 2200 SAP R/3 customers have registered in the "OFF SAP" program, or Oracle Fusion for SAP. Under the "OFF SAP" program, customers receive a 100% license credit for the SAP licenses as they migrate to Oracle Applications. The majority of SAP customers are running older releases that will be de-supported in December 2007.
