#2: VIRTUALIZATION WILL MATURE AND COME INTO ITS OWN IN 2007, DRIVING CHANGES IN HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE PRICING MODELS

#3: ORGANIZATIONS WILL SEE A SHARP INCREASE IN THEIR FOCUS ON NETWORK-FRIENDLY APPLICATIONS

dream for any other that e-mail, Really wonder what is going to change this?..What is the tipping point?

Note: The way I see it the impact the open source as a concept & as extensions will have on the proprietary vendors is the key....As pureplay open source products in the business application space still have distance to cover.
#8: THE SMB SEGMENT WILL CONTINUE ITS MOMENTUM IN 2007, AND INCREASINGLY TURN TO OUTSOURCED SOLUTIONS
Note: Outsourced solutions - outsourced and managed services , productized service offerings, SaaS etc - Is definitely the way to go for SMB's.But the one thing that needs more work is at what size do these economics get skewed...e.g At how many users does it make more sense to have an on-premise solution as against on demand - I think Forrester had a number of 500 or more.
#9: INDIAN IT SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL COME UNDER INCREASING PRESSURE FROM MNC PROVIDERS, WITH SOA SERVING AS A KEY EXAMPLE

Note: I think there will be a few acquisitions in the reverse, meaning multinationals picking up Indian Companies in the continuing trend of Mphasis, Kanbay etc.
